Bird Taxidermy in the Hershey & Harrisburg Area
Birds are the most unforgiving taxidermy there is, every feather has a place, and a strutting gobbler or a drake in full plumage only looks right when the feather set, head work, and pose are true to the living bird. This valley offers plenty worth mounting: spring gobblers off the ridges, waterfowl trading down the Susquehanna flyway, and upland birds from the farm country.
Bird work we handle
- Turkey: full strut, standing, and flying poses, plus tail fan and beard mounts
- Ducks and geese off the river and the flyway, in flying, standing, or swimming poses
- Pheasant, grouse, and other upland birds
- Freeze it right and it can wait: don't field dress a bird for mounting, see the field care guide
One note on waterfowl: mounting a duck or goose legally requires the taxidermist to hold a federal migratory bird permit, on top of the state taxidermy license. Ask about it up front, it's a fair question and a good shop will have a straight answer.
